Paeonia lactiflora ‘Charlie’s White’ – Herbaceous Peony
This beautiful variety is one of the best peonies for cut flowers. ‘Charlie’s White’ was introduced in 1951 by Carl G. Klehm (Illinois, USA), and has remained popular throughout the years.
‘Charlie’s White’ is a tall, vigorous grower. Flower stems are self supporting as they hold the large (up to 20 cm wide), showy, bomb-type flowers. The lightly fragrant blooms are double, creamy white in appearance, and flower early in the peony season, at or around the same time as Monsieur Jules Elie.
Produces lush deep green foliage that is flushed with red as it appears in spring and as it prepares for dormancy in autumn. Good disease resistance.
