Paeonia lactiflora ‘Marie Lemoine’ – Herbaceous Peony
This variety is much loved and very popular, having graced many gardens for over 150 years. Bred in 1869 by Jacques Calot, a Peony grower in Douai, northern France.
The white blooms are very large, rose-type, and have a cream centre. Flowers are occasionally tipped with carmine and carry a pleasant fragrance.
Blooms are supported by extra strong stems of medium hight to 70cm.
