Paeonia lactiflora SPANGLE ‘Jin Guang Shan Shuo’ (金光闪烁) – Herbaceous Peony
Spangle is a large flowered herbaceous peony with unusual and striking colour combinations. The blooms are anemone-style, with warm pink outer guard petals and an explosion of central petalodes. The variable centre is a real feature of this peony, producing shades of white, pink, and even gold. The blooms are mid-to-late season and are held on thin stems up to 90 cm.
This variety was bred in China and goes by the name 金光闪烁 in Mandarin. This can be Romanised as Jin Guang Shan Shuo, and translates to Spangle in English.
