Syringa vulgaris ‘Sensation’ – Lilac
Lilac ‘Sensation’ produces distinctive single, deep purple flowers with white edging around their petals. Blooms have a light perfume and appear in mid-spring. This easy to care for tree or shrub is a welcome addition to any garden.
Green heart shaped leaves.
Prune after flowering. Annual mulching and fertiliser in autumn recommended, with summer watering required.
Plant in full sun. Suited for warm to cool temperate climates, frost tolerant.
This lilac has an upright, rounded habit.
Height: 3 m. Width: 2 m.
Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union approximately 5 to 10cm BELOW the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune to shape if necessary.
