Malus ‘JFS KW214MX’ syn. ‘Ivory Spear’ – Crab Apple
Malus ‘Ivory Spear’ is a new variety of crab apple, released in 2022. This dense, upright, narrow crab apple blooms in spring with masses of deep pink buds opening to white flowers. Leaves stay disease free throughout the growing season, forming a uniform column of dark green foliage. Small (~1 cm), bright, cherry red fruits develop in abundance post-flowering, and contrast well with the dark green leaves. These ornamental fruits persist into late autumn, when foliage turns yellow and adds to the seasonal interest.
Habit is narrow and tightly columnar. Perfect as a specimen tree in small gardens, or for formal plantings such as avenues.
Excellent disease resistance.
