Lavandula x allardii
A hybrid of French lavender (Lavandula dentata) and Portuguese lavender (Lavandula latifolia). The L. latifolia parent adds a camphor-like element to allardii's strong lavender scent and passes down its long, slender flower spikes, whilst L. dentata notably passed on its highly ornamental toothed leaves.
Also known as Giant Lavender due to the overall hight it can reach. The tall flower spikes alone can reach 30-40cm long and are among the tallest of any lavender.
Flowering occurs from late spring to early summer and is not as long as some lavenders.
Prefers full sun. Grows up to 1.3m high, 1m wide.
